Free Community Health Outreach – IFUMSA Health Week 2025
To support IFUMSA’s annual Health Week program, YHIF partnered with the association to organize a free community health outreach targeting both students and non-students on OAU campus.
Overview
As part of its mission to build healthy and prosperous communities, Yele Health Impact Foundation (YHIF) partnered with the Obafemi Awolowo University Medical Students’ Association (IFUMSA) for a large-scale Free Community Health Outreach during the 38th IFUMSA Health Week.
The project delivered essential preventive health services to students and non-students on OAU campus, promoting early detection, disease prevention, and healthy living.
The Challenge
Many young adults and community members lack access to free preventive health services. Issues such as:
Undiagnosed chronic diseases
Limited awareness about sexual & reproductive health
Low access to routine screenings
Financial barriers to basic healthcare
…all contribute to poor health outcomes and long-term socio-economic challenges.
YHIF set out to close this gap by bringing health services directly to the community.
Our Intervention
YHIF and IFUMSA collaborated to design and execute a free, one-day health outreach offering:
